OUR HISTORY

OCTOO is a Brazilian company, based in Porto Alegre, a capital city in the southern region of the country. The company was founded in the early 1990s to sell and provide technical assistance for computers, pioneering the computer business in that region.

As the computer market evolved and sales in large retail chains made laptops and desktops a household basic, Octoo took advantage of its long-term experience in the business to shift its focus to meet new demands that came with this new reality. Hence, since 2003, the company has been dedicated to the development of products and solutions to make computer use more comfortable and practical.

The portfolio is vast: tables, articulated arms and other accessories with sophisticated and innovative design, displayed in several design and interiors exhibitions all over the country.

In 2006, Octoo launched the Laptable – a table specifically designed for the use of laptops and notebooks. The aim was to optimize living spaces, providing mobility and comfort. Perfect for office or home use the Laptable allows the user to work with the laptop on a desk, chair, bed or sofa – adjusting height, inclination and distance. In Brazil, the Laptable has been seen on TV, and its outstanding design had been subject of leading Brazilian publications.

Also in 2006 Octoo launched one of its bestselling products, the Uptable – an ergonomic accessory for laptops and tablets. It elevates the screen to the eye level to improve comfort, as well as to allow circulation of air under the computer to avoid overheating. The Uptable is made of chromed steel and has soft protective plastic on the on the laptop points of contact. It is flexible and light, can be used with any notebook size and adapts itself to every user’s ideal position.

Laptable Zoom was launched in 2008 as an adaptation of Laptable in a lighter version in design and price. However, it kept the same quality in material and finishing. It has enough space to work comfortably in your living room, your bed, or even in your office.

All products in the Octoo portfolio are patented and have received wide exposure by the Brazilian media. The Laptable, for instance, won the 2007 AP Design Award – Rio Grande do Sul and the Uptable was bronze winner in the IDEA – Brazil 2008/ Office Products category. In addition, in 2008, Carlos Alberto Wagner de Assis was indicated for the Exame PME entrepreneur prize, one of the most influential in Brazil. In 2011, we received 2 awards at Popai Brazil in the category “Computers and Cell.” In 2013, he received an IDEA Brazil Award for Anypad Hand.
